It means that the treatment enhances the natural mineral structures of the floor, which in turn increases the slip resistive properties and makes the floor safe when wet.
Imagine, a flat glass-like surface, or your wet ceramic tile, under a microscope. It would still appear very flat. Once an application is applied, 300 micron crystalline mountains appear, (one micron is 1/25, 400th of an inch). However, these crystalline mountains cannot be felt or seen, unless under a microscope, but they can be measured with a highly sensitive slip meter. These crystalline structures actually fill the pores completely and seals out all contaminants. Since the floor is sealed, there is no place for such things as germs, bacteria, or viruses to hide and multiply. This makes the floor extremely sanitary, not to mention easier to clean. The treatments are very chemically balanced so that things like grout lines and surrounding finishes will not be stained or harmed in any way.
